పొన్నియన్ సెల్వన్‌.. ఒక్క సౌత్‌ ఇండియాలోనే కాదు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఈ సినిమా కోసం ఎంతో సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులు ఎదురుచూస్తున్నారు. పొన్నియన్ సెల్వన్‌ అనే 1955నాటి నవల ఆధారంగా మణితర్నం ఈ సినిమా తెరకెక్కించారనే విషయం అందరికీ తెలిసిందే. చోళుల మహారాజు ఆదిత్య కరికాలుడిగా విక్రమ్‌, కార్తీ, ఐశ్వర్యారాయ్‌, ప్రభు, త్రిష, జయం రవి, శోభితా దూళిపాళ్ల వంటి ఎంతో మంది తారలు ఈ సినిమాలో కీలక పాత్రల్లో నటించారు. 2019లో మొదలు పెట్టి దాదాపు మూడేళ్లకుపైగా ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ కోసం కష్టపడ్డారు. ఇలాంటి అప్డేట్స్ తెలుసుకున్న తర్వాత ప్రేక్షకుల్లో ఈ సినిమాపై అంచనాలు భారీగా పెరిగిపోయాయి. ఇంకి సినిమా ట్రైలర్‌ ఎప్పుడైతే విడుదలైందో అప్పటి నుంచి సినిమా కోసం కళ్లు కాయలు కాచేలా ఎదురుచూడటం ప్రారంభించారు.
ఈ సినిమా సెప్టెంబర్‌ 30న థియేటర్లలో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వస్తోంది. ఎప్పటిలాగానే అమెరికాలో వేసిన ప్రీమియర్‌ షోల ద్వారా ట్విట్టర్ వేదికగా ఈ సినిమా రివ్యూ ముందే సోషల్‌ మీడియాలో వైరల్ అవుతోంది. అయితే అసలు పొన్నియన్ సెల్వన్‌ పార్ట్‌ 1 సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది? ఎవరు ఎలా నటించారు? అనే విషయాలు చూద్దాం. కరికాలుడిగా విక్రమ్‌ నటన ఎంతగానో ఆకట్టుకుందని చెబుతున్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా కార్తీ పాత్ర సినిమాకే హెలట్‌ గా నిలుస్తుందని టాక్‌. అంతేకాకుండా కార్తీ పాత్రలో కామెడీ, యాక్షన్‌, డ్రామా వంటి అన్నీ ఎమోషన్స్‌ తో ట్రావెల్‌ చేసే పాత్ర. ఇంక టాప్‌ హీరోయిన్స్‌ ఐశ్వర్య రాయ్‌, త్రిష, శోభితా దూలిపాళ్ల నటన గురించి ప్రత్యేకంగా చెప్పాల్సిన అవసరమే లేదంటున్నారు.
మణిరత్నం నుంచి ఎప్పుడూ ప్రేక్షకులు ఎలాంటి సినిమాని అయితే కోరుకుంటారో అచ్చు అలాంటి సినిమానే అందించారంటూ పొగిడేస్తున్నారు. ఒక నవలకి సినిమా రూపం అందించి ప్రేక్షకులను అంతసేపు కుర్చీలకు అత్తుక్కుపోయేలా చేయడం కేవలం మణిరత్నంకే సాధ్యమైందని కితాబిస్తున్నారు. ఇంక ఏఆర్‌ రెహ్మాన్‌ మ్యూజిక్‌ అయితే నెక్ట్స్‌ లెవల్‌ అంటున్నారు. జయమోహన్‌ డైలాగ్స్, రవి వర్మన్‌ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ ఇలా సినిమాలో ప్రతి ఎలిమెంట్‌ ఎంతో రిచ్‌గా ప్రేక్షకులకు ఒక అద్భుతమైన అనుభూతిని ఇస్తుందంటున్నారు. ప్రేక్షకులు ఎంతో కాలంగా చేసిన నిరీక్షణకు పొన్నిసెల్వన్‌ ఒక అద్భుతమైన సమాధానం చెబుతుందంటున్నారు. మరి ఈ సినిమాకి తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఎలాంటి స్పందన లభిస్తుందనేది వేచి చూడాలి.

So far the movie is purely story driven which is interesting but no emotional highs as of now. Visuals, song Picturization, and music are good. Karthi stands out so far. A big 2nd half awaits! #PS1 #PonniyinSelvan1

#PS1 Overall A Period Action Film that had potential but ends up as an underwhelming watch!
Interesting storyline with good music and visuals but is wasted by flat narration with absolutely no highs/emotional connect needed for this genre
