ఆఫ్రికా దేశమైన రువాండాలో భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తున్నాయి. దీంతో అక్కడి వాగులు, నదులు వరద నీటితో పొంగిపొర్లుతున్నాయి. ఈ వరదల ధాటికి ఇప్పటివరకు 130 మందికిపైగా మరణించారని అక్కడి అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
ఆఫ్రికా దేశమైన రువాండాలో వర్షాలు బీభత్సం సృష్టిస్తున్నాయి. ఈ భారీ వర్షాల కారణంగా ఉత్తర, పశ్చిమ రువాండాలో పెద్ద ఎత్తున వరదలు సంభవించాయి. ఈ క్రమంలో లోతట్టు ప్రాంతాలకు ఎక్కువగా నీరు చేరడం, కొండచరియలు విరిగిపడటంతో ఇప్పటివరకు 130 మందికిపైగా మరణించారని అక్కడి అధికారులు తెలిపారు. తెల్లవారుజామున అందరూ నిద్రిస్తున్న సమయంలో ఒక్కసారిగా భారీ వర్షం ముంచెత్తడంతో పెద్ద ఎత్తున ప్రాణ నష్టం సంభవించినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. మృతుల సంఖ్య మరింత పెరిగే అవకాశం ఉందని అక్కడి స్థానిక మీడియా వెల్లడించింది.
భారీ వర్షాలతో రువాండా అతలాకుతలమైంది. వరదల కారణగా వేల సంఖ్యలో ఇళ్లు ధ్వంసమయ్యాయి. భారీగా ప్రాణనష్టం సంభవించింది. శిథిలాల కింద చిక్కుకున్న వారిని వెలికితీసే ప్రయత్నాలు ఇంకా కొనసాగుతూనే ఉన్నాయి. దీంతో మృతుల సంఖ్య మరింత పెరిగే అవకాశం ఉందని అక్కడి అధికారులు అంచనా వేస్తున్నారు. ఇలానే ఈనెల మొత్తం భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తాయని అక్కడి వాతావరణ సంస్థ హెచ్చరించింది. వర్షాలకు కొండచరియలు విరిగిపడే అవకాశం ఉన్నందున ప్రజలందరూ.. ముఖ్యంగా చిత్తడి నేలలు, పర్వత ప్రాంతాల్లో ఉండే వారు అక్కడి నుండి సురక్షిత ప్రాంతాలకు తరలివెళ్లాలని సూచించింది. ఈ వరదల ధాటికి రహదారులు కొట్టుకుపోవడంతో పలు ప్రాంతాలకు రవాణా సదుపాయం పూర్తిగా దెబ్బతింది.
